Campus Overview

Wingate University is a private, Christian-affiliated liberal arts university located in a small rural town in the Charlotte metropolitan area. With approximately 3,500 students, Wingate offers an intimate college experience with close-knit academic and social communities.


Location & Setting Rural/small-town setting in Wingate, North Carolina, approximately 25 miles southeast of Charlotte. The campus provides a traditional collegiate environment with easy access to urban amenities via short drive. Surrounding area is predominantly agricultural with a quiet, close-knit community atmosphere.

Campus Life Moderate social scene with active campus programming, residential life, and opportunities for student engagement. Weekend activities include campus events, local community activities, and trips to nearby Charlotte.
